1. Does Ottawa have a curfew ordinance?

- Minors over the age of 14 but under 18: Sunday through Saturday 11 p.m. - 6 a.m., Fridays and Saturdays Midnight - 6 a.m.
- Minors under the age of 14: 10:30 p.m. - 6 a.m. Sunday to Sunday.

2. Does the police department do fingerprinting?

Finger printing is done free of charge Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. It is recommended that you call and make an appointment.

3. Can I obtain a copy of a police or accident report?

Copies can be obtained at the police department Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Copies can also be faxed or mailed upon request.

6. What is the law on texting while driving for teenagers?

If you are under the age of 18 it is unlawful for you to use an electronic wireless device while operating a motor vehicle.

This includes but not limited to:

• Texting
• E-Mail
• Talking on cell phones, Bluetooth, Onstar, etc.
• Computers, laptops, or tablets
• GPS devices (unless controlled by voice or hands-free)
